DMZ is the buffer zone between North and South Korea.

I went on this trip with a few of my friends through a company called" Adventure Korea". The trip was incredible and gave us a little insight into aftermath following the Korean War. During high school, I think we kinda of breezed through the Korean War,or maybe it just never stuck in my mind but after this trip , I became even more interested in learning about the Korean War.
Our trip first begun in Seoul and then we took a bus straight to the border, but before we went straight into the DMZ we stop at the city called Paju, which is located in South Korea, and it is known as the peace village. There you can see the Freedom Bridge, in which the tracks lead to North Korea. You can also see the prayers left by families who have been separated after the war.

Afterward we took a trip to the "3rd tunnel". It is a tunnel that was built from the North to the South in order to have a plan attack . So far four tunnels have been discovered but the government speculates that there are more tunnels. I have no pictures of the tunnel, because we were banned from taking pictures or even bringing the camera with us. All of our belongs had to be locked up. All I can say is that it was about a 300 meter climb to the bottom and then the ground leveled out and then we walked through a cave..til we reached a restricted barricade.
The next place we went to was the border..literally. We got to look out of a point to look into North Korea, but of course we could not see any people. The only thing we saw was a city...but it 's also known as " Propaganda City" aka, its just for show. I took pictures by the picture line, but the only thing I could get was a few mountains.
Our trip ended at Dorasan Station and its was the only station in the South that provided transportation from the North to the South, but since 2008 those borders have been closed.
At this location we all got stamps in our passport that say " From Dorasan Station to Pyeongyang", Pyeongyang is the capital of North Korea. I put the stamp...wayyy in the back of Passport though. I will post pictures later of that stamp. However here are a few pictures of Dorasan staion.
This trip was very interesting and it gave a little insight into the Korean War. I recommend anyone living in South Korea, to make a trip. I will say after this trip I have become more interested in reading up on the Korean War.
